Totally rebuilt in 2002, family-owned Mansion House dates back to 1794 as the grande dame of Main Street. Open year-round, the best of the Vineyard is within easy walking distance: shopping, restaurants, trails, movies, live theater, book stores and beaches are a stroll from the front door.

Martha's Vineyard is much easier if you leave your car on the mainland. All the passenger-only boats that come to the Vineyard have on-site parking so you walk on the boat without reservations.
To bring a car, a reservation with the Steamship Authority is strongly suggested. This is the only car and passenger ferry during the off-season.
